Dear Parents/Guardians:
New York State law requires that all students that are participating in school sports have a physical. This physical must be dated after 8/15/24 if your child plans to play fall sports (soccer, volleyball, or merger swimming with FA).
If your child has had a physical after this date, please have a copy of the physical faxed to the Nurse's Office at 518-497-0601.
You can have your child’s physician do a physical prior to soccer season and have them fax it to me at 519-497-0601.
Dr. Emile Benardot will be here on 6/11/25 to do physicals for students. It is a basic physical exam that includes checking your child’s ears, eyes, heart, lungs, mouth, throat and back. All male students will have a physical exam that includes examination for a hernia and undescended testes. Please remember that your child will get a more in-depth physical at their pediatrician’s office; this is just a basic physical. If you want your child to have a physical here with Dr. Emile Benardot, please fill out the first side of the attached physical form and have your child return it to us by May 22, 2025.

Our district is writing a grant called BOOST (Building Opportunities in Out-Of School Time). This grant is focused on high school students, ages 13-21. The goal of the grant is to provide opportunities for students outside of school that they would normally not have access to. These times include after school hours, weekends, during breaks, or over the summer.
This grant would allow us to fund activities and/or pay staff to provide these experiences for students. These activities will address some of the inequalities in our area and provide enrichment, experiences, social connections, and hands-on activities that are not typically offered in the traditional classroom setting.
If you are interested in seeing specific clubs, trips, experiences, or other opportunities for students, please take the time to complete the attached survey. Responses will be collected through May 9.

From Dr. I: Congratulations to Madison and Hayden, two of our CCS band members! This weekend, they participated in the NYSSMA Solo Festival at Peru HS. We are all proud of your hard work!
MASH Camp is a free, hands-on health program for high school students to expose them to the many health career paths available to them. Applications are due by June 10.
